Our go-to tour if you want our quick guide to Singapore’s history.
This is the walk where we will show you how Singapore changed from a fishing village to a colonial outpost to the shiny metropolis it is today. We will touch on the important events that shaped Singapore, and along the way you will see some of our most important monuments and some of the futuristic skyscrapers. We will try to share a bit more about where we go from here as well.
Part of our “Classic” series where we go back to basics, and go for a nice walk, telling our special stories in very “familiar” areas.
Starting Point: Raffles Place MRT Station, OUTSIDE Exit B (Google Maps)
Ending Point: Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay (Google Map)
Tuesdays and Sundays: 09:30am (for fixed departure)
LIMITED TIME: If you have 3 or more persons in your group, email us for a free upgrade to a private tour (pick your own time and date)
If places could talk! The Civic District is the area where you can see a lot of the buildings that are central to many events that have shaped Singapore to what it is today. As we walk down the Singapore River, we will share with you how Singapore went from a fishing village to a colonial outpost, and how we became the crown jewel of the British Empire in the East. We will also see sites where key events of the Second World War unfold… from the battle of Singapore to the occupation and eventual surrender of the Japanese Imperial Army. We will also see places which are integral to our road to independence, and some of our plans for the future as well.
Our tours will follow all current Safe Distancing Measures (SDM) as prescribed by the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) during the Circuit Breaker (CB) period.
This will include limiting the number of guests allowed on each tour. Guest in one tour group may also have to be further divided into smaller sub groups with sub group size mandated by the current SDM
